La Villa Bellevue in Anduze is an excellent choice for an active and relaxing holiday, as there are endless sights in the Cévennes.
Anduze, the ‘Gateway of the Cévennes’ is located between the Gardon river and the steep limestone mountains of Saint-Julien. Anduze is a pottery town known for its Vase d’Anduze. There is a market every Tuesday evening and the flea market on Sundays. The countless restaurants offer delicacies for great prices. A stone’s throw away you will find the largest bamboo forest in Europe, the ‘Bambouserai’ and the steam train between Anduze and Saint-Jean-du-Gard with a stop in the Bamboo Forest.
From Anduze you can literally go in any direction. Via St. Jean-du-Gard you enter the Cevennes nature park via the Corniche des Cévennes. With fantastic car routes and beautiful hiking trails with natural beauty that will occasionally make you hold your breath. If you prefer something more sporty, you can explore the vast roads and trails with your racing bike or mountain bike. Although the Cévennes ‘only’ belongs to the mid-mountain range, you will find quite serious slopes, ravines, wild rivers and plateaus.
If you would like to see and feel the Mediterranean Sea, it can be found 50 kilometers away and can be nicely combined with a trip to yet another natural park, that of the Camargue for example. But outside, the various étangs and the nice town of Les-Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer are beautiful to visit.
The aqua park, unique for children and adults, with a choice of 14 large slides is just over an hour’s drive away.
The favorable location makes it possible to take excursions from here to Uzès, Nîmes, Montpellier, Arles, Avignon, gorges d’Ardèche, Sommières.
